Hi everybody, my name is Rachel Meier and I'm a 15 year old girl from Middlebury, CT. I'm volunteering to participate in the Polar Plunge as a part of Colin's Crew this year. I heard about this event from my soccer coach of the u16 CFC Gunners, Erik Jungk, who will participate in this event and did so last year as well. He is the head of Team Jungk under Colin's Crew Polar Dip, so I am a part of both. After looking through the Colin's Crew page and hearing about it from my coach, I learned that this team was originally created to support a family from Wallingford, CT. Heather and Michael Westbrook have a son named Colin who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, (ALL) back in October 2009, just days after his second birthday. Colin is doing better, but this wonderful group of people continue to raise money to help other families facing similar challenges and illnesses. I decided to join the team this year to show my support for the cause and help raise as much money as possible to aid the families that are part of the program Colin's Crew is working with. Please consider donating to this cause, even a few dollars from a lot of people can make a huge difference in many people's lives. Thank you so much and it's a pleasure to be a part of this year!
