Hello! If you are at my page, then I probably know you and you are most likely donating anyway. But for those of you who don’t know (or like hearing me talk), I am raising money for UNICEF by participating in a 3 day hike in Iceland in September. While this is the type of trip I would take on my own anyway, I am doing this to help raise money for UNICEF. The fact that I love hiking and photography and glaciers is a distant second. And it will be a challenging trek through rough (and beautiful) terrain. Below are seven valid reasons to donate to my fundraiser:
- I will finally be in a country where they use the more logical measure of temperature - Celsius. Help me get there.
- Fundraisers like this have made it possible for UNICEF to help save more children's lives than any other humanitarian organization. Together, we've cut child deaths in half in over just two decades, and we've immunized nearly 40% of the world's kids. UNICEF also feeds over 1 million kids and helps provide over 2 million people with clean drinking water.
– I don’t eat fish. Iceland is known for their seafood. So, most likely on this hike/camp experience, I will be forced to eat fish. And by donating, you can help make this terrible experience happen.
– Your donation is tax deductible.
– I will be sure to come back with thousands of pictures. Then you can “like” them when I post them to Facebook and think “Hey – I helped send Steve there. You’re welcome”
– Mosquitoes do not exist in Iceland. For that reason, I would like to contribute to their economy because I hate those things.
– Potatoes. Due to the climate, potatoes are easy to grow, so Icelanders eat potatoes with almost everything. Due to him being a fatass, Steve Wisniewski also eats potatoes with almost everything. Potatoes are the greatest food in the world.
