BENEFITING: Off The Mat, Into The World
EVENT DATE: Dec 09, 2012
The practice of yoga has completely changed my life in that it has opened my eyes to so much of the world that I had never known before. It has caused me to constantly watch my nature, to always be considerate of those around me and it has taught me to free my mind from all expectations. Yoga is so important in my life because it has taught me to love others and most importantly to love myself. The practice of yoga changes us as it makes us more aware, more mindful and most importantly opens our hearts. As teachers we want to spread the message of yoga to those around us so that others can experience the benefits that yoga has provided for each one of us. That is why I believe that yoga is the perfect way to raise awareness about global sex trafficking. Through the practice of yoga we can become more aware and more mindful of the issue as well as to open our hearts and give compassion to those that have survived. I am grateful and honored to be one of the 12 teachers leading the practice and hope that together we can raise and awareness about this issue, as well as empower the survivors of sex trafficking in India.
