BENEFITING: Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation
EVENT: New York City 2015
EVENT DATE: Sep 27, 2015
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is in honor of Stephen Siller, a NYFD firefighter from Squad 1 in Park Slope. He was finished with his shift when the towers were struck. He put on his 80 pounds of gear and headed back to Manhattan, running thru the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. His family believes that he died in the south tower. Mr. Siller left behind his wife and five children, and his remains were never found. He was 34 years old. The first race was in 2002, and has raised over $35 million dollars for causes including helping wounded soldiers, fixing and donating homes to first responders and military service members, and scholarships. Some members of TeamKendrickSST2T have been involved with the 5K for several years, and to see how much it has grown is awe-inspiring. Please help us continue to give to the legacy of Mr Siller and the very worthy foundation that carries his name.
