EVENT: Assenmacher 100
EVENT DATE: Aug 21, 2016
The world does not stand a chance without clean water. It spreads disease. Compromises safety. Makes education elusive and economic opportunity farther out of reach. The lack of access to safe water is deadly, dangerous, and a major obstacle to the people of developing nations becoming economically empowered. It is what is standing between billions of people and their health, safety, and the opportunity to unlock their true potential.
Water is life…and hundreds of millions of people around the world are suffering today because they do not have access to clean water. Hope Water Project is committed to providing clean water by partnering with communities and drilling deep water wells in some of the world’s neediest areas. Our current project is to provide 1,000 new water wells for the Pokot tribe in northwestern Kenya. As of the end of 2015, Hope Water Project has led to the drilling of over 100 new wells to provide access to clean water.
I have been raising money for Hope Water Project for the last couple of years by running in the Detroit Marathon in the fall. This year, I have decided to take on a new adventure in my journey with the Hope Water Project and I have signed up to bike the ODRAM (150 miles) and Assenmacher (100 miles) races in August. That's right. The bike race that is 150 and 100 miles. My passion for Hope Water Project feels like it has been rejuvenated with this new adventure. So I am asking for your support. Please consider donating to this cause as Hope Water Project offers access to clean water and HOPE to a region that offers very little. I will match every dollar donated to my fundraiser page.
