BENEFITING: Hope Water Project
ORGANIZER: Hope Water Project
EVENT: Tough Mudder 2016
EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2016
This year I will be racing in multiple events for the Hope Water Project. One of them is a 5k and the other is the relentless tough mudder 12 mile obstacle race.
I decided to participate in these events after I realized what a wonderful mission these people are on. They are over in Kenya drilling fresh water wells for people who do not know what it's like to take a drink of water that isn't contaminated with dirt, animal feces, and other filth. We take a lot of things for granted here in our privileged country. We can go out to the gas station and get an energy drink, coke, Pepsi, or whatever other chilled beverage we want. Imagine what it would be like to not have a source of water, something we just simply can't live without. When they do find water, it's miles from where they live, and they have to dig holes just to take a drink of disgusting water. The trek back to the village almost makes it not worth it. My heart shattered when I saw what was going on for the people of Pokot.
I know times are tough, and everyone seems to be asking for money these days, but I ask that you just take a moment to visualize what it would be like to live in this manner for even a week, let alone your entire life. Each well costs about 20,000$ and will supply water for at least 20 years. My goal is to simply raise $1,000 only a small, yet powerful dent in the overall goal.
Not only have I donated myself but I am putting my body on the line as a wager. If you donate just know I promise I will do no matter what it takes to cross the finish line, and honor your donations.
Thank you for any consideration to support this cause!
