Hi all, thanks for visiting my online donor drive page!
As many of you know, this is my third year with iMentor. I am so proud that Nelfany, my first mentee, is currently a freshman at CUNY, where she is studying nursing. My second mentee, Sonia, is in the process of applying to college and is eagerly awaiting her acceptances. This year I'm proud to be a mentor to Cindy, a junior at KIPP Infinity, a charter school in West Harlem. Cindy loves soccer, zumba, and spending time with her family and friends. Since September, we've been working through the joys and perils of SAT practice, resume writing, interview skills, time management, and much more. Cindy is always eager to share her hopes, dreams, and goals with me. She is deciding which colleges to apply to next year and plans to pursue a career related to medicine.
I've had three incredibly rewarding matches, and I would be very grateful for your support of a program that profoundly impacts not only the lives of mentees, but mentors as well. It costs over $1,000 a year for iMentor to support each mentor-mentee pair with access to quality programming and resources. Every donation—whether $10 or $100—will have a lasting impact on the life of a high school student and is sincerely appreciated. iMentor is about Nelfany, Sonia, Cindy, and the thousands of students like them who have the potential to do great things. In New York, only 37% of all students graduated high school ready for college last year. To build college-readiness for students in low-income communities, iMentor matches students with mentors who work with them one-on-one to help them navigate the college application process and develop critical skills that lead to college success.
Thank you so much for your consideration and support!
iMentor builds mentoring relationships that empower students in low-income communities to graduate high school, succeed in college, and achieve their ambitions.
Students and mentors work one-on-one through iMentor’s online and in-person curriculum to navigate the college application process and build critical skills linked to college success. In New York City, iMentor partners with public schools to ensure every student in the school receives a mentor.
Since 1999, iMentor has connected 11,000 students in New York City with mentors, and will match more than 2,400 mentor-mentee pairs this year. iMentor also provides its curriculum, technology, and best practices to nonprofits nationwide to help them run effective mentoring programs in the iMentor model.
