For the 8th consecutive year, our March for Babies Family Team, Team KLM, is fundraising to raise money to help all babies be born healthy. We started our team and became very involved in the MOD’s only months after my daughter Kayla was born at 29 weeks (3 months early). She weighed 2lbs, 4oz and was in NICU for 48 days fighting for her life. She was/is a survivor and a true miracle. Additionally, our team honors my daughter Madison, born at 35 weeks, for all of her strength to survive many complications and obstacles during a very difficult 8 months of my pregnancy. And lastly, in memory of our son who we lost at only 22 weeks into my pregnancy.
This year alone, 1 million babies died because they were born too soon, and 12 million more struggled to survive. Let’s help in the March of Dimes effort in working together for stronger, healthier babies and recognizing the serious problem of premature birth.
I would like to ask for your support in my fund-raising efforts by donating to our team in support of the event I will be participating in the weekend of October 13, 2012. I will be running the Amica ½ Marathon in Newport, RI (www.amicamarathon.com) which supports the March of Dimes. There are no minimum donation amount requirements, every dollar donated makes a big difference and is much appreciated. 100% of your donations go directly to the March of Dimes.
