BENEFITING: KORTNEY ROSE FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: KORTNEY ROSE FOUNDATION
EVENT DATE: Nov 04, 2012
Dear friends and family (and random solicitees): I'm raising money for the Kortney Rose Foundation to battle pediatric brain tumors by running the New York City Marathon again this year. Please help me in this important fight to save the lives or children suffering from brain tumors and related illness. Here is the deal - brain tumors are the #1 solid-tumor cancer related cause of death in children under 20 years of age. With the help of the Kortney Rose Foundation - let’s GET BRAIN TUMORS OFF KIDS' MINDS! Please make a generous donation today (tax deductable). I promise to run faster the more you donate!
A bit about the Kortney Rose Foundation: if you're reading this, you’re probably seeing the picture of a beautiful little brown haired, brown eyed, smiling girl on this website or email. That is Kortney Rose. She died at age 9 from a brain tumor. I want to help children like Kortney and Kortney's mother, Kristen, who set up this foundation to raise money to fight pediatric cancer. In the past five years, the Kortney Rose Foundation has donated over half a million dollars to the pediatric brain tumor research program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with donations earmarked for large scale genomics project to hunt for the genes behind brain tumors and to provide better therapies and treatments.
A bit about me: from experience I know that running 26.2 miles is not only painful but also much more so when you prefer Sunday morning bloodys rather than training. The more you donate, the more I train! I'd like to finish in a respectable time this year - anything under 4 hours will be just fine with me. Thank you for helping and please donate as much as you can. This is serious stuff, folks. I'm grateful for your help and so is the Kortney Rose Foundation.
