On April 19, 2014, I took on the challenge of running a 10K (a full 5Ks further than I had ever run) in the Crescent City Classic. It just so happened that on the same date, Matt was facing the biggest challenge of his life, as he underwent liver transplant surgery that evening at New Orleans' Oschner Hospital. Nearly 8 months later, I have not run anywhere at all, and thankfully Matt is healthy and feeling great!
To commemorate and celebrate the events of last year, Matt and I are planning to return to New Orleans to run together in the 2015 Crescent City Classic. This year I am running in support of the Louisiana SPCA, a non-profit shelter dedicated to providing safe haven for homeless cats and dogs, and raising the quality-of-life of companion animals in New Orleans.
Please consider sponsoring my run by making a donation to the LA SPCA. Your generosity is greatly appreciated!
