BENEFITING: Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation
EVENT DATE: Dec 20, 2014
We are running the Dec. 20th race in Atlanta's Piedmont Park to benefit the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in honor of our dad, Lewis Nix, who was diagnosed in April 2013. Dad has been fighting MM (like a champ!) for over a year now. He is being treated at Little Rock's fantastic hospital at UAMS, which is world-renowned for its MM program. Dad is now in a maintenance period for three years and receives chemo weekly here in Atlanta at Piedmont Hospital. It is no fun receiving chemo every single Wednesday, but his attitude and bravery is an inspiration. While Dad is doing incredibly well, MM is a type of cancer that can't be cured (yet), and we have to remain vigilant. Thank you to friends and family for your tremendous support. It means more than you know. Each dollar helps fund research toward finding a cure and improving treatment options. Let's beat this thing!
