EVENT DATE: Mar 23, 2013
This coming Saturday 3/23 - The SANDY HOOK RUN FOR THE FAMILIES is not about running. It is about life: honoring the memory of precious lives lost through tragedy and celebrating the gift of life. It is about uniting in hope for the future.
This Saturday, our team is walking/running/jogging with the families of the Sandy Hook tragedy in our hearts. We hope you find in your heart to help support this cause too - it's super easy to donate. But first, meet the team:
Andy MacGregor - Age almost 77 (Yes 77!), retired Scotsman on a mission to complete his 2nd (yes 2nd) 5K in 6 months! His training regimen & recent diet of home-made curry has been unrelenting.
Jean MacGregor - 74 years young, a former swimming extremist from Liverpool - also going for her 2nd 5K in 6 months! As Andy's partner for close to 52 years - she's had to put up with a lot of curry.
Cameron MacGregor Farrow - Age 9, fishing enthusiast. Did we mention fishing enthusiast? Catch him. If you can.
Scott Wolfarth - Age forty-something, the 'running champion' of the crew. A 5K novice with self proclaimed fear of 'running with others'. (Should be interesting.)
Becky J. MacGregor - Age thirty-something (for 5 more months anyway), self-proclaimed 'jogger' & U2 adorer who has been known to persuade a certain 'individual runner' to race with 20,000 people.
Team MacWolfPack participates with a spirit of hope for the future. We celebrate life & family & friends. And while this event is dedicated to those directly affected by Sandy Hook - As a team, we also remember our immediate loved ones - and we remember them with grace...and continue to let our memories fuel many smiles... that day and always.
Please support Team MacWolfPack and donate today! Remember donations are tax deductible and check with your company for their donation matching policy!
Your donation goes to THE SANDY HOOK SCHOOL SUPPORT FUND, administered by the United Way of Western Connecticut in partnership with Newtown Savings Bank. A local board of Newtown community leaders is being convened to determine how the fund is most needed and will be best utilized.
Thank You Tons!!
