Name: Mae Hardman-Hill
Neighborhood: Ridgewood, Queens
Favorites: I like reading, writing, and acting. My favorite author is John Green. This seems like a good place to put my favorite book, but I honestly don't know what it is. As for writing, I really enjoy writing short stories and I have a few longer ones in progress.
About me and my family: My parents both moved to NYC as adults, so I have family scattered all around the country, including our older brother at a music conservatory in Boston. To make up for his leaving though, my cousin has come to stay with us in Queens (and can't wait to see this show!).
Why you should support Downtown Art: Well, where do I start. DTA is great because it's not only really fun, but it also teaches you a lot of responsibility. It manages to do this without being stressful, making it a really nice break from school. It's also a totally safe environment and helps to build confidence. I'm not the most confident of performer, but I know that with DTA I'm never going to be judged. The people are also really kind. The whole company becomes real good friends, and everyone is always willing to help everyone else out. On a slightly less personal note, I think it's really important that everyone gets the chance to do something they love, and because DTA is free, that chance is offered to kids who might not be able to afford it otherwise. Donating to DTA ensures that it will continue to be free.
