BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
I am so excited to be running the 2013 Boston Marathon for my two new friends, Martin, a sweet and charming two year old, and Bobby, a funny and passionate 16 year old. Both are fighting cancer. Martin has a big time love of trains, and is also a great singer! His rendition of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" is amazing, and it's even better when he sings in French. Bobby is a great basketball player who rebounds with the best of them. His high school basketball team changed their colors to orange this year to support him. Running for both Martin and Bobby gives me all the motivation to run 26.2 on Marathon Monday!
I can think of no better cause than putting an end to childhood cancer, and I can think of no better group of people to do so than the team at the Mass General Hospital for Children Cancer Center. I am inspired everyday by stories of hope and compassion I hear from my mother, who is a nurse practitioner at the Mass General Hospital for Children Cancer Center. Training for the marathon takes a lot effort, commitment and desire, but frankly its nothing compared to what these kids go through everyday.
I am proud to run for Mass General, knowing the love my mom has for her kids, who she fights for everyday. There is no better commitment I could make than to Mass General, who provides outstanding care and service, for patients and families. The money that is donated goes directly to healing sick kids, and helping them and their families cope with their diagnosis.
Please help by donating to this tremendous group of kids. It's the best investment you can make.
Thank you for your support!
