BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
Dear Family and Friends,
This year I have been given the opportunity to run the Boston Marathon. I am honored, and excited to participate in this event on April 15th— not because it’s something to check off on my bucket list, but because I am running to raise money for “Fighting Kids’ Cancer”.
I have to introduce you to four-year old Amanuel Bayu. He is my little patient partner who is inspiring me to run for this cause. I am humbled by the strength and courage of this little one who is undergoing chemotherapy to fight Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). This includes spending every other week in the hospital, and his parents, stay right there by his side dedicated to him. All they can do is hold his hand and pray. They are remarkably positive and grateful for the support. The truth is, my training is easy compared to what Amanuel and his parents are going through.
Please think of this as an opportunity for friends to work together to make a difference for a child. We are all an important link in the chain of humanity. Your donation doesn’t have to be large to participate. Every bit is so appreciated.
Please help me support Amanuel and other children like him. You never know when YOU will be the parent, the grandparent, the aunt/uncle, or friend of a child with cancer!
Thank you so much for your generous support, and please include little Amanuel in your daily prayers. We’ll let you know how he’s doing as time goes on.
