BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
As most of you know, I was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer, chondrosarcoma of the skull base, in March of 2012. After my surgery at Shands on March 20, 2012, I was referred to Massachusetts General Hospital and Dr. Norbert Liebsch for further treatment and consultation. We found extraordinary compassion at Massachusetts General Hospital. Most importantly, we found the expertise that has given us comfort, encouragement and hope for the future. My health today is a testament to the excellent care I have received at both Shands and MGH.
On April 15, 2013, a little over a year since my initial diagnosis, I will run the Boston Marathon to honor the smallest among us who fight each day. I will run especially for those children who will never know what it is like to run a marathon. I hope you will consider joining me in supporting of the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology at MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Together, we can give hope to our youngest heros by joining them in the fight to end cancer.
