BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
As you probably know, my son Matthew was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) in November of 2011. Nothing prepares you for the moment when the doctors tell you that your child has cancer. But the doctors at MGH assured my wife and me that they had a plan to cure my son of this disease. As much as any child dislikes trips to the doctor’s office, Matt takes his monthly trips to MGH in stride because he is treated like a king by the wonderful staff and has tons of toys to distract him while he is receiving his treatments. Every dollar raised goes directly to MGH for researching new treatments and for helping children like Matthew have a better experience when receiving their chemotherapy.
We still have a long road ahead us as Matt fights this horrible disease. I'm sure we will have some really tough days in our future, but we are we thankful for how well he is doing and the support we have received from our friends and family. Matt's last treatment will be in January 2015, and until then..."I'm waiting for the time when I can finally say that this has all be wonderful, but now I'm on my way." --Down with Disease.
I appreciate you taking the time to visit the site and graciously thank you for your donation. (Just click the big orange button! I know you want to!)
