BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 15, 2013
Why am I running the Boston Marathon this year? Well, for starters, I'm running the Boston Marathon because every year since 2008 (when I first moved to Boston) as I've watched the runners charge down Beacon Street I've said, "I'm running next year!" The courageous runners, the supportive crowd, the incredible energy of the city on Marathon Monday inspire all who witness this event to at least fantasize about attempting the feat. Well, "next year" has finally come for Ms. Nicole Morse. And what's so special about 2013? Aside from the fact that we all survived 2012, I will also be turning the big 3-0 in May, meaning that this will be a big check on my "Before 30 Bucket List".
Now, why the Mass General Marathon Team? First of all, a friend of mine has been on the team for several years and has had nothing but wonderful things to say. Based on my experience with the team thus far, the MGH team has surpassed my expectations. But more important than the help that I’m receiving as I attempt this endeavor is the cause that I am supporting in the process. Anyone who knows me is aware of how much I care about children. Fundraising for the MGH Pediatric Cancer Unit lets me give back in a way that my busy work schedule often does not allow. Since 1998 the Mass General Marathon Team has raised over $8 million to support the pediatric hematology-oncology program. Please help me towards my $5,000 goal this year. Every little bit helps!
Thank you for visiting my page, and I’ll see you at the finish line!
