Team McCourt Boston Marathon Monday, April 16, 2012
The McCourt Foundation is proud to announce that it will be teaming up with John Hancock to participate in the 115th annual BAA Boston Marathon for charity fundraising.
Alzheimer's & MS Fundraising | Boston MarathonThe Boston Marathon is the world’s oldest and most prestigious annual marathon and part of the World Marathon Majors.
We are proud to be selected as part of this prestigious event.
I've teamed up with the McCourt Foundation to raise money running this year's Boston Marathon. The Foundation focuses on raising money for Alzheimer's and MS, which are topics that are very important to me personally. I've had some family and close friends affected by each of these diseases. Both take a toll on both those afflicted and the families.
This year will be my second Boston Marathon and the first one was an awesome experience. With all the support of running with the McCourt team this year, I plan to have just as much fun (I promise running can sometimes be fun - kind of!) training for the marathon and running it, come April 16th. I mean, I know it won't be easy getting up early on the weekend to go out and run some ridiculous number of miles through the snow, but we have a great team and a great cause. Plus the extra miles mean some extra treats during the week, and I'm a big fan of chocolate, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, beers, cheeseburgers, pizza ... You get it. Just another reason running with the team will make it worth it!
Anyways, thanks for your support and cross your fingers for me on April 16th!
Feel free to come join us for a run to get an idea of who we are that are running for the team and you're helping so much to support!
