THE STORY:

On July 22, 2012, Michael D. Kennedy Jr. was killed by a drunk Driver. It was a day none of us will ever forget. The day I lost my first born son, no parent should ever have to bury their child, especially by such an avoidable and irresponsible act. I am inviting you to walk with me and my family during the Walk Like MADD 5K in Atlanta, GA. In honor of Michael D. Kennedy Jr, and so many other victims, we will be raising money to save lives and to help victims. Although Michael is no longer with us, I refuse to allow his death to be in vain. Michael was only 19 years old, full of life, and full of potential. Sadly, another family experiences the devastating effects of drunk driving every nine minutes, and one in three people will be involved in an alcohol-related crash in their lifetime. My goal is to build a legacy for Michael, to use my pain to raise awareness and to save lives. To do everything in my power to make sure that no other family is affected by the tragedy of drunk driving. No more offenders, no more VICTIMS, no more mothers burying their children. Then my son’s death would not be in vain. Help me save lives! If you cannot join us in person, you can also be a virtual walker, or you can just make a donation to the Team. The smallest amount will help! Together we make a difference. Mathew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven”
