BENEFITING: Association of Migraine Disorders
EVENT DATE: Sep 20, 2014
The Association of Migraine Disorders was founded by otolaryngologists (ear, nose and throat doctors) who recognize that people with traditional migraine headaches have many other neurological symptoms that do not include a headache. By cooperating and consulting with experts from other fields of medicine, we intend to unify these related conditions into one broad, single diagnosis of a migraine disorder and to stimulate more research into this condition. Often unrecognized or misdiagnosed migraine disorders negatively affect the quality of life for millions of men and women, both young and old.
Facts about migraine you may not know:
1 out of 9 people suffer from migraine disease, and less than half of the patients diagnosed with migraine are satisfied with treatment.
Migraine can affect people of all ages, and is linked with a 3x higher risk of stroke among women who suffer.
