Do you know more than 21% of Philadelphia residents are food insecure?
I am running the Rock 'n Roll 1/2 Marathon Philadelphia to raise awareness about food security and raise funds for Move For Hunger, a non-profit that works with relocation companies across North America to pick up unwanted, unopened food from those who are relocating and deliver it to local food banks.
You can help me too. All it takes is to commit your next dine out bill and donate the amount of money to this fundraiser. Every donation counts, no matter how small or big.
But that's not it. I'm currently working on a creative side project, a hand crafted illustrative guide to Indian restaurant food ordering, in an iBook/e-book format. If you contribute $30 or more, I shall send you a free copy once its ready! Indian restaurant menus with unfamiliar dish names and complex preparation styles can be both intimidating and overwhelming. Consider this book as a working knowledge for the curry novices, packed with a chilli (hot) meter and allergen info. Hint: a fun way of introduction for the uninitiated friend or colleague at work.
I'm combining two of my favourite passion projects, cooking and running into one. And I need your support to make it a memorable affair.
Make a donation and help support Team Move For Hunger at the Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia 1/2 Marathon.
