Hi all! Please join me in this amazing event for a cause very near and dear to my heart. Lung cancer is a leading cause of death among all cancers, with survival rates standing at significantly lower figures than those of other cancers. Without highly developed early-stage diagnosis techniques, those suffering from lung cancer are often unaware that they have the disease until it's progressed to later stages. Several other cancers, such as breast cancer, were in similar states 30-40 years ago. However, with considerable advances in research for those cancers, survival rates have soared in recent years. I'm hopeful and confident that, one day, the same can be said about lung cancer.
The Thomas G. Labrecque Foundation organizes an amazing event to help fund lung cancer research and made advances in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The people fighting lung cancer are brave every single day in their battle. My mother, who has always been my inspiration since I was young, fought this disease with the most grace and strength I've ever seen someone display. And despite having lost the person most important to me, what I've gained is a cause I care for from the bottom of my heart. The very least I can do is be as active as possible in the fight against lung cancer that so many people have bravely been involved with for many years already.
Please join me for the 11th Annual Run as One event on April 27th in Central Park. All proceeds raised through registration fees ($25 for adults) and fundraising efforts for this event are directed towards funding lung cancer research. If you'd like to join my team for this event, please register through the following link: https://www.tglfoundation.com/registration/ny14.asp. Once you've registered, you can participate in fundraising efforts if you'd like through this page. Regardless of your ability to become involved with fundraising activity, please join me in this amazing event with some great people!
