Why am I running in the Boston Marathon? To protect clean water for everyone. With your support, we can ensure that nature and people have enough clean water to survive and thrive for years to come.
I grew up in a home abutting conservation land and spending summers in the TN mountains. My brothers and I would spend hours outside swimming, exploring the woods, hiking and generally playing around. I then went to college in Maine where our library steps looked out onto a vast expanse of trees that turned beautiful hues of red, orange and yellow each fall. It wasn't until I was in Boston working for The Nature Conservancy that I had a grasp on the reality of our world's natural resources.
So, yes, I am running the Boston Marathon for Team Nature to help ensure that the beautiful outdoor spaces I have been lucky enough to see are still around for generations to come. But my run is not just about recreation and adventure. It is also for those who never get to be immersed in forests, fields and lakes but who need clean water and air just as much as any one of us. Protecting nature helps plants, animals and people everywhere—from the mountains to the city.
Please donate to help ensure that our natural resources are around as long as possible. When you help nature, people benefit. Just hit the big, orange DONATE button and you are helping to support the Conservancy's vision to leave a sustainable world for future generations.
Thank you for your support of our natural world and of Team Nature and please let me know if you have any questions!
