Mother Nature faces many challenges. But sometimes…she IS the challenge.
In the beautiful lands and waters of Washington, a wild and historic race takes place every year. This race isn’t for the weary—it’s a test of endurance and teamwork and also a celebration of nature. The Nature Conservancy is all about protecting lands and waters, but do we really have it what it takes to compete in Ski to Sea?
The Conservancy’s Washington and Canada teams will compete against each other in this year’s Ski to Sea Race, an eight person outdoor athletic extravaganza in Bellingham, Washington on May 27. Participants ski, run, canoe, bike and sea kayak their way through mountains, forests, bays and even the Nooksack River, a Conservancy priority.
This is a “friendly” competition for two teams that spend their days protecting the forests, rivers and wildlife of the Northwest Coast. The question is: Who will win? The answer, we hope, is nature!
