I've been a runner all of my life. Sometimes I was running for soccer. Sometimes I was running for track. But mostly, I was running because of the way it empowered me. That freedom was taken away from me in March 2016 when I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. For six months, I would be in and out of the hospital battling everything from chemotherapy side effects to unexplainable fevers to a cyst that developed in my pelvis from radiation.
I'm now back on my feet and able to start physical activity again, and I will be running in my first 5K this November in D.C. to raise awareness for Women's Cancer. Please help me give women with a cancer a voice by donating to such an important cause. Whether it's been breast cancer, ovarian cancer or just any cancer that has effected you and your family, we have to come together to defeat this debilitating disease.
I want to show that cancer doesn't define you. I want to do this for women who have lost their lives to cancer. Help me by either donating, or just simply spreading the word about this wonderful fundraiser!
If you have any questions or actually want to join my team and run this with me on November 6th, please email me at email@example.com.
