Thank you for visiting my page. I spent summer 2011 in East Africa on a self-directed, self-funded fellowship affiliated with the Daraja Academy of Kenya. Daraja is located outside of the city of Nanyuki, approximately four hours northwest of Nairobi.
Daraja officially opened its doors in February 2009 to provide a free high school education (and much more) to 100+ amazing but under-resourced young women. Daraja will graduate its first class of 25 students this December.
Daraja supporters will be participating in this year's running of Bay to Breakers to fundraise for Daraja. Bay to Breakers is a 7.46 mile race that takes place in San Francisco each summer. If I am unable to run the course on May 20 then I pledge to run four trail miles followed by four miles (288 laps) in the pool.
Thanks for your support. Enjoy the video scrapbook I created and posted to the left of this note.
