BENEFITING: No Stomach For Cancer
EVENT DATE: Nov 02, 2013
I'm so excited to be walking!
. . . to bring visibility to and increase awareness about stomach cancer, to raise funds to support stomach cancer research and education, and to unite with people worldwide, in action and in spirit, to fight stomach cancer, a devastating disease what is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death worldwide.
Join us in New York, or wherever you are…it's easy. Find everything at NSFC 2013 Walk.
Each year I walk in a different city, state or country...to join with people I have come to know worldwide through my work with No Stomach For Cancer.
I walk in memory of my mother Elaine, my brother Greg, and all of the loved ones lost to this disease. I walk in celebration and in honor of the survivors and of all those who are fighting stomach cancer today...I am humbled by their strength, determination and incredible spirits.
Not enough people are aware of stomach cancer risks, or that it strikes all ages, or that there's a hereditary stomach cancer syndrome caused by a gene mutation. Not many know it's possible to live without a stomach...I know!
Families everywhere are impacted by stomach cancer. Knowledge is power, so protect yourself, your family and your friends; take a moment to learn more about risks, symptoms and prevention at the No Stomach For Cancer website. Early detection is critical to survival, and awareness is the first step!
Thank you for your support!
p.s. yeah, that photo is my stomach! all 170 slices of it (in parrafin blocks) where it currently resides in a drawer in Boston...we need better options.
