BENEFITING: Children's Tumor Foundation
EVENT DATE: May 04, 2014
Team Owen is running the Pittsburgh Marathon in support of the Children's Tumor Foundation for Owen, son of classmate and friend, Dan Frenia.
Owen was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) in 2007. NF1 is a disorder characterized by the growth of tumors, which usually form on or just underneath the skin, as well as the brain and peripheral nervous system. Tumors, scoliosis, blindness, muscular problems and fibromas are all associated with neurofibromatosis.
Since the age of two, Owen has endured countless doctor appointments, MRIs and other medical procedures. Last year, Owen was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is now undergoing 58 weeks of intensive chemotherapy.
Your donation will provide critical funding for the Children's Tumor Foundation and allow for clinical trials, treatments and a cure that is desperately needed.
Any donation is greatly appreciated and 100% tax deductible...thank you from Team Owen!!
