CENTER FOR INDEPENDENCE THROUGH CONDUCTIVE EDUCATION INC wrote -
Meet Carmine. He has a twin brother, a big sister, a huge smile and Cerebral Palsy; he is one of the strongest little boys you will ever meet. A lot of his strength is due to the incredible therapy program at the Center for Independence. The Center for Independence is at the heart of Carmine's recovery. His ability to perform independent tasks – getting dressed, brushing his teeth, putting on and taking off his braces – is something they work with him on every day. He grows incredibly in strength and stature each month. He’s confident in his abilities, self-assured, and eager to try new things.
Carmine loves going to the Center every week. He's eager to let everyone know he’s arrived and loves to greet everyone, especially his therapists Jim and Sylvia, who work with him 5 hours every week.
As a family, the Center has helped us become independent too. Through their advice and support we have been able to provide guidance and experiences for Carmine as we "let go" and watch him grow and change and celebrate his many successes.
The Center for independence is a non-profit organization. Most of their operating budgets come from donations. Joey and I know that we can never give back what they give Carmine through their aggressive therapy program. Please spread the word about this incredible fundraising event so children like Carmine can continue to receive therapy and become fully participating members of our community.
