BENEFITING: RETT SYNDROME ASSN OF MASSACHUSETTS
ORGANIZER: RETT SYNDROME ASSN OF MASSACHUSETTS
EVENT: 2013 Boston Marathon
I'm honored to join my friend Erica Robertson and Team Rett in the race for a Rett Syndrome reversal by running in the 2013 Boston Marathon. As a Boston native, I can't wait to crawl along some of my favorite old streets, hopefully watching family members and friends along the way.
Erica and Ryan (Red) Robertson are two of the most amazing people I know, who embrace life’s challenges and inspire everyone around them to be better. Their daughter, Avery, was born with Rett syndrome. Avery, age 6, used to say "duck", "mama" and "bus". Now she's lost most all linguistic capabilities, screams often, and can not feed herself or communicate verbally. Avery is one of the lucky Rett girls. Most Rett girls never learn to talk and many don't walk.
Team Rett FundRacers will be raising money for research in hopes that Rett syndrome can be reversed!
