THE STORY:

Giulia Gasperi wrote -

62 passionate bikers. 40 NYC miles. 1 heart-felt goal: to raise $ 75,000 for the treatment of depression and suicide prevention.

We cannot reach this goal without your support.

By sponsoring our team you will donate to the Life Is Priceless Foundation (LIPF). You will directly impact the lives of the 1 in 4 adults that suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder every single year. You will join forces with a team of agencies that has chosen to support the LIPF and its founder, advertising veteran Tim Price.

As we cycle into this adventure for the second time in a row on May 4th, 2014, we are thrilled to support Tim’s tremendous efforts – we take pride and are humbled by this cause.

Please join us by supporting the cause – any donation counts!

- Dennis & Giulia

What is The LIPF?

The LIPF was started by Tim Price after his brother David lost his battle with depression, completing suicide in October of 2011 at the age of 31. This foundation is a 501c3 Not For Profit, and has been created to provide academic and medical communities additional resources to continue research, diagnose and treat depression and to help prevent further suicides.

Suicide and depression: some facts and figures

In 2011, the CDC reported that nearly 500,000 people were treated in emergency departments for self-inflicted injuries.

The active military suicide rate continues to surpass combat-related deaths.

ONLY 61 percent of Americans think it appropriate to tell family members about a mental illness diagnosis, according to a recent study commissioned by the New York City Metro chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Just 43 percent approve of telling friends about a diagnosis, and just 13 percent of telling co-workers.

It's time to make a difference. Together.
