As most of you already know, I have decided to get off the sidelines and run the 2012 Los Angeles marathon on March 18th. To make this day an even bigger event in my life, I have decided to run on behalf of the Rover Rescue organization. Since I can remember, I have always adored our four legged friends and hope that one day every dog has a loving home to call their own. Until then, organizations like Rover Rescue are extremely important and I hope they connect me with an amazing sibling for Dexter in the next couple of years! Please read a brief description of Rover Rescue's mission and of course Dexter and I would be extremely grateful for any donations you made on my behalf.
TEAM ROVER RESCUE 2012 ...Run for the Life of a Dog!
Rover Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of homeless dogs from Los Angeles animal shelters. We have rescued and placed over 1300 dogs since our inception in 2001. Many of the dogs we rescue are in dire need of medical attention, and Rover Rescue covers the costs of medical treatments and life saving surgeries. All of our dogs are boarded up until the right home is found, and we provide "beauty makeovers" and "attitude adjustments" (training, working with our animal behaviorists and trainers) to help these precious dogs find their forever home!
In addition, we strive to lower the rate of euthanasia in our local shelters by providing spay/neuter vouchers for the dogs of low income residents of LA County.
