For the past several years, Team Run Amanda Run has come together to gather donations and raise awareness for important charities like The American Cancer Society, Fight Like a Champion.org, and The ALS Foundation. Together we have contributed close to $5000 to these extremely worthy charities.
When I started this journey, I promised myself to always run for a cause. In doing so, I have had the privilege of being inspired by some pretty amazing people.
This year’s charity and the individual that inspired the choice of that charity are no different. In fact, I’m so inspired, I decided I’d run 2 half marathons!!! Yep – that’s right – 2!
I’m pleased to announce that the Team Run Amanda Run Charity for 2015 is The Epilepsy Foundation! And I will be running in honor of my incredible nephew, Adam.
The Epilepsy Foundation has led the fight against seizures since 1968, and is an ally for individuals and families impacted by epilepsy and seizures. The Foundation works to prevent, control and cure epilepsy through community services; public education; federal and local advocacy; and supporting research into new treatments and therapies.
