BENEFITING: STRAY RESCUE OF ST LOUIS
ORGANIZER: STRAY RESCUE OF ST LOUIS
EVENT: 2015 GO! FOR A CAUSE
I ran the GO! 1/2 marathon for my first time last year. I have decided to run it again in 2015 ... and have decided to run it with a purpose!
2014 was a year to remember. My four-legged, furry girl underwent spinal surgery and a lengthy recovery that tested not only her physical will but also my emotional resolve. It was a scary experience, and certainly one that I will never forget. After a cuddle-filled recovery and some aqua therapy to get her up and moving again, I am happy to report that Dublin has made the greatest recovery that I could have hoped for. I was lucky enough to be able to provide for her in her time of need - financially and emotionally.
I hope to offer that same support (with a little help from my friends!) to the pets that find their way to Stray Rescue - an incredible St. Louis based organization aiming to enhance the lives of those pets that are most in need.

Join Team Running Buddies and run, walk, or cheerlead your way to a brighter future for homeless dogs!
The idea is simple but the rewards are huge. Team Running Buddies members commit to raising funds as participants in the GO! St. Louis 5k, Half Marathon, Marathon Relay, or Marathon. The money they raise will be used to strengthen enrichment programs and medical care at Stray Rescue, which are vital to the rehabilitation process of those we rescue and ensure an ultimately healthy environment for the dogs. Our participants are key members of a fun, energetic, and compassionate team that will enhance the lives of homeless companion animals and help more of them find loving homes!
And new to this year's team are the Buddy Boosters! This is a great way for people to be on Team Running Buddies if running just isn't their thing. As Buddy Boosters, participants will serve the important role of inspiring and cheering on those who are racing, all while raising additional funding for shelter training and enrichment programs and medical care.
And remember, stop by Stray Rescue's Pine Street shelter to jog with a dog in our Running Buddies In-Shelter Enrichment Program! This program is a fun, unique, and meaningful way to stay in shape while enriching the lives of shelter dogs as they await their loving forever homes. All participants have to do is visit Stray Rescue’s Pine Street shelter (2320 Pine Street, St. Louis, MO) and “check out” their buddy… then they’re off and running!
