BENEFITING: TEAM RED WHITE & BLUE
EVENT DATE: Oct 24, 2015
"Members pushed past some of their own perceived limits to help the team reach its final goal." "The event promoted ideals like, "it's not about you", "it could always be worse", "the team, not the individual, is the ultimate champion"" "...events like this make better Americans and are worthy of support and participation." "After exiting the military, I adapted quickly and life was just fine. I'm not someone who had PTSD or any real difficulties transitioning to the "civilian world." With that said, I did feel an absence in my life... Finally after 8 years of being separated from the military I found what I had missed the most... A deep connection, a bond, with another individual that you cannot create with many others that you do not share blood... These 5 people I will never forget. Those 2 days I will never forget. Those were 2 of the best days of my life. " These are quotes taken from Team RWB members who participated in a similar type event earlier this year. We are 2 teams of 8, a total of 16 Team RWB members, competing in the Ragnar Hill Country Relay. Each team will conquer a series of three loops while taking in the natural scenic beauty of the surrounding area. Total distance covered by each participant is 15 miles. This event offers more than the opportunity to get some exercise in. This race provides the opportunity for Team RWB members to grow closer together, to gain or strengthen friendship, and be a part of a team, similar to what most participants experienced in the military. This event is not possible without a cost of course. $3000 is the minimum amount needed to be raised in order to enter the race. This does not include the cost of fuel, food, travel, etc. which covering anything beyond entry fee would be a bonus. Every amount matters and we appreciate you taking the time to donate.
