As part of the Team Red, White and Blue Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay Presented by BAND-AID® Brand, our team will be running from October 4-6, 2014 from Montrose, CO through the Monarch Mountain Lodge in Salida, CO and ending in Westcliffe, CO.
Our 3 day journey includes over 14,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain, traverses Monarch Pass (11,312 ft.), and totals nearly 180 miles of the 3,800 miles that Old Glory will travel across our Great Nation! The only way to tackle a feat (haha) like this, is together and we have just the right team to do it - Team RWB Denver!
About the Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay:
The Old Glory Coast to Coast Relay is an Olympic torch style relay of approximately 3,800 miles from the VA hospital in San Francisco to Bethesda Naval Hospital in suburban Washington, DC. We will be carrying an American flag the entire distance over the course of sixty days beginning September 11 and ending November 11, 2014.
About Team Red, White and Blue (Team RWB):
Team RWB is a way for American citizens to connect with Veterans and support the transition back to American communities across our nation. We employ a straightforward but effective model to achieve our vision. Physical fitness and sports are proven ways to bring people together and set the conditions to build meaningful relationships. In our case, they provide veterans with renewed camaraderie, a sense of purpose, and shared accomplishment. In addition to being an excellent way to connect on a social level, physical activity is proven to be therapeutic and healthy for both the body and mind. We deliver our approach through four distinctive programs: the Chapter and Community Program, Veteran Ambassador Program (VAP), Leadership and Athletic Camps and our Eagle Leadership Development Program (ELDP).
