BENEFITING: Daraja Education Fund
EVENT DATE: May 17, 2015
“It is my education that will give hope to my family," Rahab said.
Rahab is from the Coastal area of Makindu. She was raised by her mom and sisters after her parents separated when she was young. Because her mother couldn’t afford her primary school fees, Rahab worked as house help to pay for her own school fees. Thankfully, her second employer told Rahab to stop working and paid for her to return to school. During her Daraja interview, Rahab sang a song she composed about her life, wowing the administration.
Rahab loves attending WISH class because it makes her stronger and teachers her how to be the change of tomorrow. She is a member of the Drama Club and Athletics team. Her dreams are to be a doctor so she can save peoples lives, open an orphanage, or become a children’s officer to save the lives of vulnerable children.
Please consider supporting Rahab as she runs to raise money for her own education on May 17th in Kenya, while many Daraja supporters are running in the annual San Francisco Bay to Breakers race in solidarity.
Separated by an ocean. United by a cause. Is that powerful or what?
