Southern Nevada Bully Breed Rescue via Crowdrise
November 16, 2012
The Save A Bull fundraiser has been created by Southern Nevada Bully Breed Rescue to jump start our innovative Foster Home Stipend Program. With Las Vegas still in a down cycle economically and people continuing to struggle to make ends meet, we have found it increasingly difficult to find foster homes for our rescued dogs. People who otherwise would want to foster a homeless dog are reluctant to do so when they are experiencing financial hardship. There may also be an additional pet deposit required which they cannot pay.
Just as foster homes for children receive funding when they care for a homeless child, our foster homes would receive this stipend of $300 per month to house and care for a rescued dog. This will not only increase our foster home volunteer base but also help families who may be struggling financially. It's a win win situation, allowing us to continue to save dogs during the very slow holiday season (and even slower with job layoff's looming), without having to resort to boarding them which is financially crippling to a rescue organization and very hard on the dogs -- and we're helping people, too! Wow, what a great idea! Please help us get the ball rolling so we can save more dogs!
The $50,000 goal would allow us to get all of our currently fosterless dogs as well as dogs on our waiting list in to qualified foster homes, and continue the program well in to the new year.
