I have been a nurse at South Shore Hospital for 26 years. This year I will be running the Boston Marathon to raise money for cancer care at South Shore Hospital. I am running in honor of 2 very special people who are being challenged with their own marathon. Dr. Rick Mirable one of South Shores "finest" anesthesiologist and friend to many. Rick is fighting metastatic melanoma and is presently in a trial of treatment. Rick remains positive and is an ispiration to all of us and will be my inspiration as I do my training. The second person is my close family friend Debbie D'Olympia. Debbie is fighting metastatic breast cancer. Debbie has already endured chemo and surgery and is now on a second regimen of treatment. Debbie remains positive and has taken on her challenge like a champ. These 2 people and all of my other friends and family members who are bravely fighting the fight will be in my heart on marathon day.
I am asking for any donation possible to help me in my fundraising efforts to raise 5,000 dollars that will go directly to Dana Farber caner care at South Shore hospital. Any donation is appreciated. Thank you!
