Happy Valentine' Day
I am now have a Tupperware fundraiser
please check it out! It runs until February 28, 2013.
Many have been asking why did I choose to run for Spaulding Race for Rehab? I know first hand how patients and families benefit from the help of others. My family has and is benefiting from the help of a hospital foundation in Canada. Iam choosing to run to give back and to run for those who cannot.

It is Christmas time for many; that translates for many as a happy and joyous family occassion. Sadly, it is not often the norm. Being away from family at this time whether it is by distance, health or circumstances can bring about a lot of emotion. Especially for those who are going through a difficult time remembering passed dear ones or families and those who know it is their last Christmas together.
At this time, I am the above, the 'norm'. I have a wonderful husband and two beautiful dogs, who I live with. My family is far away and I have sick family who we know it is their last Christmas. Sadly, my husband and I will not be able to share with them. Our hearts and our love is with them.
Therefore, our hearts and love is out to you and your family at this time.

Wow, this week I have been busy organising events for the new year, and training hard. We had our first Race for Rehab team meeting, went off with a BANG!
This is an exciting time for all, including myself. I am taking this weekend to get more structure and to plan. Watch for updates and your own personal letters.
It has been less than
a year, since I have been living in the United States of America. I moved from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. During this time, I have experienced 'culture shock' and have had wonderful co-workers and new friends to help me through it. My family and friends from afar have listened to me and offered their support as much as they can. Together, they have helped me find my strength.
Anyone can come over any challenge in their life, with support. It takes time and dedication and perseverance. My inspiration to run with Team Spaulding race for Rehab comes from own life experience in hopes that I can help others regain their freedom and to help families face the challenges of the future with confidence. In all, help them find their strength.
It is a privilege to run for a great organisation that supports all to find their strength.
I encourage you to visit Maynard's family story:

As our Race for Rehab Marathon Team trains to complete the historic 26.2 miles in April, Spaulding is getting closer to crossing another finish line.
In April 2013, Spaulding will move to a brand new facility in Charlestown. This state-of-the-art facility will be a special resource for Greater Boston, New England, and beyond. It will greatly enhance clinical capacities, provide comfortable and accessible patient accommodations, promote a truly transformative clinical research enterprise, and be a source of aesthetic enjoyment for the community.
Located on a beautiful site with harbor views and dock facilities for therapeutic water sports and community use. The design supports a holistic therapeutic approach that will help restore patients’ independence and facilitate their transition back into the community, while at the same time welcoming the public, at all levels of ability and mobility.
Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital's journey started in 1970.
