The SSM Hospice & Home Care Foundation is proud to be one of the official GO! for a Cause charities of the 2014 GO! St. Louis Race Weekend! Please join our team and help us raise money to support the very special patients and families of SSM Home Care and Hospice.
When you support the SSM Hospice and Home Care Foundation, you are helping to provide a financial and emotional safety net for our most vulnerable patients and families. In addition to covering direct cash assistance for necessities such as rent, utility payments, prescriptions and therapies not covered by Medicaid, we also fulfill last wishes and sponsor children’s bereavement camps.
Our programs include:
Patient and Family Emergency Assistance Fund acts as a safety net for qualified patients, providing what private insurance, Medicare and/or Medicaid won’t cover. Assistance might include medical equipment, prescriptions, therapies, or help with expenses to maintain quality of life, such as help with rent or mortgage payments, utility payments, home adaptations and more.
Our MAGIC Bereavement Program is designed to help children work through their grief after experiencing the loss of a loved one. Our professional staff helps children and their families develop strategies for coping, communicating and healing after the death of a loved one and includes a one-day camp.
SSM My Legacy enables hospice patients have the opportunity to preserve the stories, values, ideals and experiences that have shaped their lives through Life Reviews and photography.
“Comfort Touch” is a complimentary massage therapy that is available to hospice patients to promote deep relaxation and relief from pain.
Rehabilitative Therapies Fund provides funding for services not supported by government or commercial pay for physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
Memories That Last funds helps make our patients’ last wishes come true. The SSM Hospice team coordinates with the patient to help fulfill a wish that may include something as simple as a final fishing trip, a family outing to the zoo or a special dinner with loved ones.
