Hi everyone! Thank you all for visiting my fundraising page!
For those who don't know me well, I am a second year veterinary student at Michigan State University. I am passionate about small animal medicine, surgery and helping those in need! I heard about RAVS and the awesome experiences from friends and other veterinary students and knew it was something that I wanted to be involved with!!
In August of 2015, I will travel with HSVMA-RAVS staff and volunteers will travel to the Standing Rock Lakota and Dakota Sioux Reservation that is part in North Dakota and part in South Dakota for a 7 day field clinic. Our team of 30 veterinary students and 15 professional volunteers will offer free spay/ neuter and wellness care to hundreds of animals in these remote communities where regular veterinary care is not available.
In addition to wellness services, we will care for animals with a wide range of health concerns including puppies suffering from parvovirus and distemper infections and older animals suffering from multiple infirmities. We will help animals with old traumatic injuries and festering wounds, returning them to a happier life with their family. While providing this care, we will be educating the people of this community on animal care and public health, helping to make the community a better place for the animals and the people of Standing Rock.
Thank you all in advance for your donations!!! I truly appreciate it and I know that the community I am helping will as well!!
