BENEFITING: STEEL CITY GREYHOUNDS INC
ORGANIZER: STEEL CITY GREYHOUNDS INC
EVENT DATE: May 05, 2013
This May, I am running the Pittsburgh Half-Marathon to raise money for Steel City Greyhounds. Throughout my birth month of April (and up until the half marathon on May 5), I will be working toward my fundraising goal of $250 and am asking for donations in lieu of birthday gifts. I am very excited to be running for such a great organization, and I hope you will help me reach my goal!
Whatever donation you can manage goes a long way to help find forever homes for the hounds! A few suggested amounts are a simple $5-10, or $13.10 (a dollar per mile).
ABOUT STEEL CITY GREYHOUNDS:
Steel City Greyhounds is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization who's mission is to find forever homes to retired racing greyhounds in Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania. In this regard, Steel City Greyhounds has placed nearly 600 greyhounds in its 10 year existence. Every dollar that I raise will go directly to support the organization's adoption program. The proceeds cover the costs associated with greyhound medical expenses, including spay and neuter surgery, vaccinations, and wellness exams, along with other adoption program operating costs. Greyhounds begin their lives like no other breed, destined to be raised in the racing environment. They are very competitive athletes, yet gentle and sensitive by nature, making them perfect canine companions. But when done racing, they need homes. Your donation, then, helps move these 45 mph couch potatoes move from kennel to couch.
