SAVE THE WORLD, ONE GIRL AT A TIME!
“What we are learning around the world is that if women are healthy and educated, their families will flourish. If women are free from violence, their families will flourish. If women have a chance to work and earn as full and equal partners in society, their families will flourish. And when families flourish, communities and nations do as well.” --Secretary of State and former First Lady Hillary Clinton Remarks for the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women - Beijing, China, Sept. 1995
Education is one of the most powerful ways to address social change. Due to gender discrimination and poverty, girls in Nepal are often deprived of a full education - leaving some 57% of the women in the country illiterate. Please join me in helping to educate Manisha so that she can be part of the change we want to see in the world.
Manisha Aryal: School Khadwalkot primary school Grade 5 Favourite Subject Nepali Interests She likes to read many different kinds of books. Why sponsor this child? Manisha is from a family of five and her father died a few years back. Her mother cannot take care of all 5 of them and pay for their studies. Comments If she is sponsored, she will have the chance to complete her studies.
There are 3 easy ways to show your support of education for girls:
OPTION 1: Donate to the Event. Hit the orange DONATE button the right and select my team (Educate Manisha Aryal) or a team of your choice.
OPTION 2: Help us fundraise (even if you don't have money) by spreading the word.
- Step 1: Scroll down to the Team Leaderboard at the bottom of the event page and join the Team of your choice.
- Step 2: Sign in or sign up for a Crowdrise account
- Step 3: You’re done! Edit and review your page and then send it to your friends and family asking THEM to donate!
OPTION 3: Start your own team and fundraise for one of these girls who still need sponsorship to continue their education.
For only $230 a year, one girl will receive a year’s schooling, covering the cost of:
- admission fees
- examination fees
- monthly tuition fees
- two sets of uniforms (shirt, pant, sweater, tie, belt, shoes, bag, etc.)
- stationery and books
- child club support
- support for community development activities
- administrative charge (including correspondence, follow up and monitoring of the sponsored child)
Will you help?
