BENEFITING: Streetwise Partners, Inc.
ORGANIZER: Streetwise Partners, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2011
On Sunday, November 6th, I'll be running the New York City Marathon to raise money for StreetWise Partners, a not-for-profit organization that I’ve been involved with for the last several years. StreetWise provides motivated low-income individuals with the training and skills, mentorship, and connections to secure and succeed in a new career. The program teaches people to proactively think about their career, not just their next job, and provides the tools, support and confidence required to set and achieve specific career and personal goals. Each trainee is individually matched with two volunteer mentors from professional backgrounds who provide them with guidance and personalized support over a 12 month period.
StreetWise aims to help level the playing field for people who have an incredible work ethic, but just don’t have the right training, connections, or guidance that others do to advance their career. While I’m excited and proud of the challenge I’m taking on by running the New York City marathon, it pales in comparison to the dedication and motivation exhibited by each of StreetWise’s trainees. Please join me in supporting these amazing men and women by making a donation. My goal is to raise $4,000 for StreetWise and finish the marathon in under three hours and forty-five minutes - and I need your support it make it happen.
Thank you for your consideration.
