BENEFITING: Daraja Education Fund
EVENT DATE: May 17, 2015
The Kenyan government only provides free access to education through the primary grades (K-8). Beyond primary school, students or their families must pay all fees associated with their schooling. Countless bright, eager students are kept from furthering their education simply they cannot pay these fees.
Often heard before seen with her contagious laugh, Carol is small, but a mighty force. She is an avid member of the football (soccer) team and represents sports teams on Daraja's Student Council.
In the classroom, Carol pushes herself to the Top 5 in her class every term. During her school holidays, which she spends with her mother and disabled sister, Carol also finds time to volunteer at her local hospital.
Please consider supporting Carol as she runs to raise money for her own education on May 17th in Kenya, while many Daraja supporters are running in the annual San Francisco Bay to Breakers race in solidarity.
Separated by an ocean. United by a cause.
