To everyone that supported and contributed, my deepest thank you!
Monday was an amazing day, and the most physically difficult thing I have ever done.
The crowds and supporters were amazing, the people handing out water and ice cubes and soaked sponges, the sprinklers and hoses and hydrants soaking the road, the Wellesley girls and BC kids and Kenmore Square fanatics.
My highlights (chronologically) were seeing the Norfolk clan, seeing my wife and family and Janet’s ice-soaked towel, ‘running’ with Mike Griffin up Heartbreak Hill, running with my niece Devon towards Cleveland Circle, and - absolutely – the turn onto Boylston Street for the last six blocks.
I credit my time – 4:47:41 – to the upper 80’s temps throughout the day. But I am proud to have finished, and to have been part of such a fantastic event.
Thanks to all of you, I raised $10,170 for Travelers Aid Family Services (tafsboston.org). On their behalf, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
