On Tuesday, June 30th, while in Roseland with Jeannine, I noticed a cat from one of our colonies was laying across the alley, not running to eat like he normally does. When I called out to him, he meowed softly and began to crawl to us. Our poor black cat friend was injured.
Normally when I feed, he'll let me pet his head, and he'll stand next to me. He wouldn't go in a trap before and didn't trust me enough to scoop him up. Yesterday, he stood by the trap, meowing, and let me grab him by his scruff. Jenny Schlueter immediately answered my call and had me take him to the vet where it was discovered that he had road rash and multiple pelvic fractures. He will either need to be on crate rest for 2 months or have surgery.
Lil Wayne is approximately 7 months old, and truly a sweet little guy. He let the vet thoroughly examine him and enjoyed all of the pets and treats he was receiving. Tree House needs a foster for him ASAP, and could really use some donations for what is going to be costly treatment.
Please, please share this adorable little man for foster and donate if you can. Treehouse has been exceptional in taking cats quickly for me from Roseland, and if it weren't for them, his care would be in limbo.
