Our family life got a lot sweeter in April of 2013. We were thinking of adopting a dog after losing our 15 year old sweet girl Henrietta, also a rescue. I had heard wonderful things about an organization in town called Pixie Project. I stopped by to see a dog that I noticed online and sounded like a possible good fit for our family. I fell in love with the 7 year old Trixie immediately. Sadly, she was already spoken for and I said that I would check back sometime in the future. As luck does sometimes find us, Trixie wasn't a good fit for the first family. We did a few more meet and greets and then fostered Trixie for a week. She was magic for us from day 1. She is sweet, silly, adorable, and gets along so well in our family. She loves traveling with us and is a wonderful companion. Our 5 year old has learned so much responsibility and care from Trixie. Their relationship is beautiful.
Please consider supporting our charity fundraiser! If you would care to join our team, please do! It is a wonderful event for a wonderful organization!
The Pixie Project is a non-profit animal adoption center and rescue. We offer a variety of services to the public including but not limited to: pet adoption services, pet owner education and support and low cost and free spay and neuter and veterinary services for homeless and low-income pet owners. We are located directly across the street from the convention center at 510 NE MLK BLVD.
The Pixie Project ‘s adoptable animals come from a variety of places but the majority are from surrounding over-crowded county shelters and rescues located in more rural areas of Oregon. As many of these areas are not served by a local shelter we provide an urban outlet where the animals can have maximum visibility and exposure to potential adopters. Animals that come to our rescue also have access to veterinary and training support to meet any and all needs.
The Pixie Project focuses on finding life-long matches between pet and adopter and for that reason our adoption process is a bit more in depth than some other shelters. We appreciate the opportunity to sit down and talk with any person or family looking to adopt a new pet so we can best help them find an animal that suites their home and lifestyle. We have a variety of animals of all ages, sizes and breeds and so if you are considering adding a pet to your home please come down and visit!
